The published article names John McIntosh and Ann McLeod as parents; the original seed named Murdoch senior without evidence. The earlier claim is preserved in the research log.

The 1852 Ontario research lists Murdoch aged seven, conflicting with the 1847 birth date. He is not visible on the supplied manifest sheet. The 1851 arrival in the newspaper account remains an alternative claim.

The Ancestry printout gives death 29 March 1918 at “Foster”; Phillip and the 2021 article give 25 March. Both date and place need original-record checks.

The undated Lot One article says Magnus Cromarty took up land in Murdoch’s name while Murdoch was seventeen; it cites 1864 land selections. This may distinguish allotment from Murdoch’s own settlement in 1868.
